DEXTROSE MONOHYDRATE

DEXTROSE MONOHYDRATE, or glucose as it is also known, is a monosaccharide that is approximately 30% less sweet than pure or refined cane sugar and is not associated with either fructose or lactose. It is derived entirely from corn, making it natural, effective and easily utilised by the body.

The primary function of this carbohydrate is the production of adenosine triphosphate, or ATP, which is the main energy source for the body’s cells. DEXTROSE MONOHYDRATE (and in turn glucose) is the majority fuel source for the brain, with low levels associated with negative effects on mental processes.

Its fine texture and moderate sweetness make dextrose versatile for a wide range of applications. However, it offers an especially important effect for athletes. As a simple sugar, it is well-tolerated by most individuals and can be consumed before, during and after the most intense training sessions. From an athletic performance perspective, DEXTROSE MONOHYDRATE can help ensure muscle cells are provided with the hit of nutrients they need to recover, repair and replenish.
